MISSION STATEMENT

The world faces overlapping and interconnected crises, yet
the responses to them often
lack imagination.
We believe artists, storytellers, and creative thinkers  are essential to re-envisioning solutions and driving
real change.
By harnessing the power of art and technology, we inspire new possibilities and help shape a world that does not yet exist—but should.

WHO IS TRÉ BORDEN?

I am an artist, producer, rabble-rouser, dreamer, and the founder of Tre Borden /Co.  I believe deeply in the power of artists to create spaces that inspire and shape movements for social change.

I began this company a decade ago in my hometown Sacramento, CA, and I had no idea where it might lead.  Sacramento was not an obvious place to launch a creative studio, to say the least, and many were understandably skeptical of my vision to put artists at the center of how we design shared spaces and address social inequity.  I believe that artists are problem-solvers first and foremost and, when properly resourced, can create better strategies for change and connected communities.  Our commitment to creative collaboration, fair and transparent compensation and dreaming huge has opened up so many doors since then– I am very proud of our body of work.  It hasn’t been easy, but it’s fun, and we get to work with people and clients we admire, so I am not complaining!

Before my career in art I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life. Growing up I just knew that I wanted to get out of Sacramento and see the world. During my undergrad at Yale I went abroad each summer, and my two stints in China were what inspired me to get my East Asian Studies degree. I then moved to New York and while getting a post-bacc at Columbia co-founded SuitsU, a tailoring company based in NYC and Shanghai that gave broke 20 somethings like me a chance to get affordable tailored clothing. When everyone got fired in Fall 2008 I moved back home to Sacramento, CA to take my GMAT and ended up staying put and going to UC Davis Graduate School of Management for my MBA. After graduating, and having a real job for approximately 30 days, I started working with an artist I went to elementary and middle school with, and the rest is history! S/O to Sacramento for being the perfect place for a wayward creative to find his purpose.

It’s hard to feel like you’re off the clock when the company is literally your name, but in my “Tré time”, you can find me on the tennis courts, with my family, trying to avoid CyberTrucks on the 101, or at baggage claim somewhere.

WHO ARE /CO?
Dorian Lynde steers the ship on every project and is constantly expanding our arsenal of skills, capabilities and collaborators as the head of all things creative and design.

What makes our work possible, and what we at Tre Borden /Co are so proud of, is the ecosystem of resourceful, brilliant, and singular artists and storytellers we have cultivated over the years.

The world is dark and full of terrors, but we are light and together we will triumph! When the stakes are this high it is time to speak truth fearlessly!
